Qualifications:
- Education: Post high school education consisting of Associate, Bachelor or Master’s degree in nursing
- Experience: Experience in endoscopy for at least one year, leadership experience preferred
- Additional requirements / comments / education / experience / skills, registration or certification: BLS certification or obtains within six months of hire, ACLS Provider or obtains within six months of employment, PALS certification or obtains within six months of employment BLS and ACLS required upon 6 months of employment
Job Description:
- Assists the surgical team during endoscopic procedures.
- Provides patient care before, during, and after the procedure and educates patients about treatment.
- Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
- Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
- Promotes the adoption of nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines to support evidence-based practice.
- Manages conflict on assigned shifts and collaborates with other supervisors and unit leadership if further action is needed.
- Collaborates with patient quality, safety, and experience leadership and promotes patient quality, safety, and experience processes.
- Supports daily clinical operations on the unit by ensuring effective scheduling, staffing, and appropriate clinical supplies and resources are available for patient care.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
