Qualifications:

  • Educational Preference: BS or Pharm.D. degree and KY BOP Pharmacist License

  • Experience: 1 year hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

    Minimum: KY BOP Pharmacist License

    Preferred: Pharm.D., prior experience in hospital pharmacy practice as a pharmacist

  • Additional requirements / comments / education / experience / skills, registration or certification:

    Working knowledge with CPSI and/or Meditech, working knowledge of Omnicell or Pixis ADCs, working knowledge of USP 797, 795, and 800, working knowledge of competencies requirements as it pertains to pharmacist and technicians, working knowledge of policy and procedure development, working knowledge of software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., experience with written communication and documentation as it pertains to consults and interventions between pharmacist and providers, experience with Sentri7, DSCSA, and OneRecall

Job Description:

  • In coordination with the Pharmacy Director and manager, oversee, coordinate, and control the operation of the pharmacy department and all medication management processes throughout the organization.

  • Oversight of all technicians and workflow processes.

  • Order verification, entry, and processing.

  • Oversight of all sterile and non-sterile compounding processes.

  • Oversight of all employee retail prescriptions.

  • Responsible for pharmacy consultations and drug utilization management.

  • Ensure compliance with patient care quality standards.

  • Direct/control purchases and maintain inventory of all pharmaceuticals and related substances/supplies throughout the organization.

  • Participates in departmental planning.

  • Covers on-call time after hours.

  • Assist department leadership in any task deemed necessary to complete patient care needs and the needs of the department.

  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the department and promote the organization’s core commitments.
